Give Day Tampa Bay Starts Now!
Be The BIG Difference!
Perhaps the most deserving children on our waiting lists are those who are in foster care, living with a relative or family friend. We are dedicated to finding some great Big Brothers and Big Sisters who can bring stability and friendship to these children, who have been removed from their homes through no fault of their own. One such match is Big Sister Lucinda and Little Sister Mijah, who have been together for four months and have “clicked” from the beginning. They have gone to yoga together, enjoyed the circus, and sometimes just like to take long walks around Hyde Park. Mijah lives with her grandmother, who says she has noticed how much happier Mijah has been since getting her Big Sister. And Lucinda, who describes Mijah as “sweet and funny,” has gotten great satisfaction over being able to bring some joy and fun into Mijah’s life. If you are interested in becoming a caring mentor to a foster child, please contact Jack Sheppard at

2017 Bigs and Littles of the Year Named!
We are pleased to announce that Roxanne Connor and Megan, a site-based match at Eisenhower Elementary School in Clearwater, have been named our Big Sister and Little Sister of the Year for 2017. We also congratulate Chris Butler and Elgin, a community-based match in St. Petersburg, as our Big Brother and Little Brother of the Year. View their inspirational stories HERE!
35th Annual Bowl For Kids' Sake
Our biggest and most striking fundraiser is back in 2017! Help us to raise funds for our program by setting a goal of $100 (or more) for each team member and then join us for a bowling party celebration as a "Thank You" for helping to make this event a success. To register your fundraising team, visit our BFKS registration page.
You can also download the BFKS app to help with your fundraising! Get it on the Play Store or ITunes.
Are you ready to go Over The Edge?
We're proud to announce our new title sponsor for our Over The Edge event, 13 Ugly Men, who have been great supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters in our endeavor to provide more children with positive mentors.
During this event supporters will be rappelling down the tallest building in St. Pete. Help us with our annual Over The Edge fundraiser, by signing up and raising $1500 and you can go too! The date is set for April 29, but you must have your funds raised by April 21 to be eligible.
If going over yourself isn't your style, you can nominate someone else go. "Toss the Boss" anyone?

In an effort to make the process of becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister as convenient as possible we are launching a new series of monthly Orientation and Training sessions at locations throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties. If you are interested in becoming a mentor to one of the hundreds of Tampa Bay children on our waiting list, plan to attend one of our all-inclusive sessions, where you will be given an overview of our programs, complete our mentor training, submit your enrollment form and schedule your in-person interview. It’s never been quicker or easier to join our organization and become a positive role model to a child facing adversity. For a county-by-county list of upcoming Big Orientation sessions, click HERE.
Thanks to your support, we reached our goal to sell 1,000 license plate vouchers statewide and now they're ready to purchase at your local Tax Collector's office.
Special thanks to Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano and staff for promoting this special project!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay has earned a four star rating from Charity Navigator.
We proudly partner with the agencies listed below, thank you for your support.
Did you know? You can now purchase a Big Brothers Big Sisters license plate! Stop by your local Tax Collector's office and ask for the Big Brothers Big Sisters specialty plate. You'll share the message about mentoring and a portion of the sale will help us pair more kids with caring mentors. Check out the video from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America CEO, Pam Iorio.
Become a volunteer. We're looking for committed and dedicated men, (and yes, women and couples, too!) who want to make a difference in the life of a child (Little). Volunteers (Bigs) spend a few hours a month doing simple things with their Little: going to the library, enjoying a ball game, just hanging out and we encourage Bigs to stay matched at least for one year. Click here, call (813) 769-3600, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to apply or receive more information.
