Events Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

In collaboration with the Development Department and Events Team, plan, implement, and manage a comprehensive Annual Fundraising Plan that focuses on increasing the number of donors and money raised through fundraising events. The will include leading and managing event logistics and volunteers, as well as solicitation of sponsors and event participants through face-to-face cultivation and direct mail/email/phone solicitation; and providing appropriate stewardship to all donors. As an individual contributor, this position is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of 75 to 100 top prospects and donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A four-year degree from an accredited college is preferred; Preferably 1-2 years of development/sales and event management experience with documented results. Skills / Knowledge: Demonstrated technology skills including desktop publishing, word processing and database management are strongly preferred; budgeting experience and proficiency in Excel spreadsheets are highly recommended; strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, public speaking, strategic and analytic skills will be expected from an ambitious, results-oriented team player.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Flexible work hours are required to meet the development needs of the agency, to include weekends. Dependable transportation is critical to the performance results expected from this position.

Pinellas County Director of Corporate Partnerships

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pinellas Director of Corporate Partnerships will serve as the primary liaison between Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and current and prospective corporate partners in Pinellas County. The Director of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships for forming partnerships that include (but are not limited to) School-to-Work partners, corporate volunteer recruiting for other traditional mentoring programs, event sponsorships and other potential revenue opportunities. Other responsibilities include, tracking and evaluating results of recruitment outreach efforts; responsibility to provide weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports for programs and other assigned duties.

Candidate must be comfortable working directly with corporate leaders, including CEO’s, Board members, and community engagement officers. Presentation skills are necessary to make formal presentations, recruitment drives and meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate will have a four-year degree or related experience in Partnership Development/Volunteer Recruitment; excellent customer service skills, public speaking, staff coordination skills and ability to work with various teams. Demonstrated technology skills including MS Office, Constant Contact, desktop publishing and ability to design and write electronic communication. Candidate must have reliable transportation to travel to various locations throughout work day. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate evening and week-end events and schedules.

School-To-Work-Coordinator (Pinellas County)

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay is currently seeking a candidate for a School-to-Work Coordinator. This position will have responsibility for the oversight of a School-to-Work program consistent with the goals of the agency’s Strategic Plan. RSVP Program Coordinator (Sumter County)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RSVP Program Coordinator oversees the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) program policy guidelines and has full-time responsibility for the development and operation of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs; in coordination with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay program and Senior Program Advisory Council. The RSVP Program Coordinator functions as a Big Brothers Big Sisters project manager, actively involved in community organizations, school partners and with RSVP Volunteers. The RSVP Project Coordinator may participate in activities to coordinate RSVP program resources with those of related local agencies, boards, or organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field required. Training and/or experience working with those over 55 years of age preferred. Knowledge and experience working within Sumter County; The candidate must have three years of experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, to include significant supervision and/or leadership, process management, grants management and/or quality improvement. Interpersonal communications skills and public speaking experience; Experience in grants management preferred. Demonstrated technology skills will be expected to include Microsoft Office software and data base management.
